Vamos a la playa!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Christine and I partied all day at the beach. With our kids. While our husbands worked. And judging by the ridiculous amount of pictures we took, it pretty much rocked.

Because who doesn't like starting the day off with a nutritious milkshake smoothie?

We headed to Boulevard because...is there any other park?

Everly kept up with the boys all day.

Parker, Owen and Ian spent the entire morning exploring.

Which paid off because Parks found a...baby eel? Or something that looks like a baby eel.

And (be still my heart), Everly found a million baby crabs.
And she carefully picked them all up and placed them in a new and better home.

And the boys plugged up a dripping pipe.
Sidenote: Parker is absolutely certain that this pipe drained straight from the nearby bathroom, despite all of my discussion to correct that thought. And then later on tonight when he used the bathroom he wistfully wondered aloud "I think this is heading straight to Boulevard..." with a proud little smile. Huh.

Everly decided to abandon the boys and draw in the sand instead.

AND THEN THE TRAIN CAME. Oh, the excitement of standing 20
feet from the train while the conductor waves at you. Be still our hearts.

And then the party boat showed up. A very pretty party boat. Christine and I would have swam out to the boat and joined the crew, but the kids put a damper on that idea.

The rain blew in so we wrapped it up at the touch tanks. Seemed like a natural transition.

I love that Christine was there with her camera because I actually existed on this outing!

Everly and Ian had a moment before we left.

And then tonight after dinner, Everly was washing dishes. I stepped around the corner for a minute to solve a handwashing issue crisis, and I came back to this. She insisted she was "very stinky". So of course, the only solution is to get in with the dishes.

  1. oh Everly--of course the logical thing is to get in the sink.
