Day 16 . Zipline and Exploring

We took off early to make the two hour drive to Ziplining all the way across the island. When we arrived, the grounds were gorgeous...and there was a cat. Everyone was happy.

Standing over the ravine and the last LOOOONG zipline!

Two VERY excited and so totally brave kids!!

Once we geared up, we drove 20 minutes to the top.

Peanut had to be lifted up to get clipped into the ropes.

The first one they went with a guide, but then...

He seriously doesn't look like he is screaming down a mountain here, but we are! There were a few side by side lines, which was SO FUN to be able to see the kids' faces!

One of the gorgeous views. Umauma Falls.

 Good family pic.

 Normal family pic. :)
The excited girl, about to go by herself! On a looooong one. And a hiiiiigh one.

There were nine lines and the longest was 2200 feet. It took us over two hours to make our way down!

 How awesome is this?!
Looking down on the Umauma from the zipline!

All of the guides noted how awesome and sweet our kids were. Made my heart proud. :)

This was an awesome suspension bridge over the river. It was SO high and we had to be roped in to cross it. I wanted to cross with the kids, but they have no fear and tons of excitement so they ran across it, cackling with laughter before I could even catch up with them. :)

Parks about to take a running leap.

From the Zipline, we took the Old Mamalahoa Highway (which is funny, because it's actually a one lane road - they've made a lot of improvements!) through the rainforest and in and out of trees and by the coastline. It was breathtaking.

Evie ran around a banana grove, chasing a mongoose.
We stopped for one of my favorite meals - probably because it was fresh and light and made up of fruits and veggies. Eating on vacation is hard!

 Looking up on the drive.
We stopped at Laupahoehoe to check out the crazy surf. We were told people occasionally swim here. We were also told they're mostly tourists.

We drove our way around these cliffs over the water.

And we made it to Waipio lookout just as the sun went down. It was breathtaking. Then we drove another hour and a half towards home, logging another 13 hour day!
