25 Days of Christmas {seven and eight}

Given our December of ups and downs, we decided to make the most of the holidays and surprise the kids with a weekend in Seattle. Since we always head north for our big city exposures, they have never (I know!) been to Seattle. We saw the sights, the lights, and walked until our feet were sore. It was grand. And Parker is planning on moving to Seattle some day. He actually wishes we would move there next week.

Our lovely room.
We walked down to the market where the kids were so excited to see "the fish!"

 We met up with our dear friends and their kids and managed to only lose two children and have approximately 5 minutes of conversation spread over 2 hours.

 Gum wall!

By 2pm the kids had eaten a bag of donuts, a cookie, hot chocolate, and gelato.
No wonder they love this city.

We rode the carousel, looked through the shops, and walked uptown to downtown and back.

 Aaaaand the escalators were a BIG hit. Seriously. Strangers were laughing at how
long it took them to get on and the "ride the ride".

 And then we walked back to our hotel and informed them there was a pool.
SCREAMS of excitement.

 Today we got up after a morning of snuggles and ate crepes by the
waterfront and rode the monorail to the needle.

 We were enthralled by the huge train set up and then we wrapped up the day at the Science Center.

And two sad kids trudged back on the monorail and walked
back to our hotel to get in our car and drive home. A perfect time was had by all.
